This is a Project position designed to support project work for a limited duration. While the exact duration of the project is yet to be determined, we currently anticipate a period of 3:5 years based on business needs at the present time following which you will separate from the Company. It is important for you to understand that this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future at which point you will separate from the Company. It is also important for you to understand that this employment is of a limited duration and that you will not be entitled to separation benefits under any PSEG plan at the time you separate from the Company. Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities within the first 3 years of assignment. From year 4 through the end of your assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated timeframe based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.
Location: This position will be located out of our Newark Headquarters in Newark, NJ
This is a multi:level growth series position (Grade Level 25/26/27) that is posted at the Project Staff Engineer level. The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.
Lead and Manage the project engineering efforts for assigned multiple electrical switching and substation projects ( 4kV to 500 kV) from conceptual stages and adherence to scope, schedule and budget.
Responsibility includes, but not limited to the following: Interface with other technical disciplines and project management and construction teams through all phases of assigned projects. Develop scooping documents, develop schedule and prepare estimates. Assists in development of cost:effective and reliable station layout and one:line control drawings, protective relay, SCADA and monitoring scheme. Provide technical support during construction and commissioning stages. Resolve complex technical problems and provide solutions. Provide input in developing specification for equipment purchase. Perform engineering calculations for substation grounding grid, station battery sizing, lightning protection, voltage drop, SL and P transformer sizing, Arc flash etc. Review and approve licensing and permit packages, and construction drawings to assure all engineering standard, construction standard and safety code are met. Review and provide comments and approve control and layout construction drawings. Candidate shall provide technical support for strategic management initiatives and help to set direction for the organization in regards to technical issues.
