PSEG Energy Resources and Trade is seeking summer interns to support the Energy Marketing and Asset commercialization groups in the Newark, NJ Headquarters building.
There are four areas where your talent and energy may be utilized:
Energy Trading/Origination : ER and T manages the sales and risk management function for all of PSEGs power generating assets. Job activities could include preparing marketing material, analyzing deals and assisting in developing new transactions, fundamental market analysis, research into energy markets and other support as required.
Asset optimization : ER and T manages the commercial operations of PSEGs power generation fleet. Job activities could include researching energy markets (all commodities) to better inform our short:term power plant dispatch and optimization, compiling information to assist in bidding the power plants into daily markets, supporting our electric load forecasting.
Retail Operations : ER and T is building a new business to sell electricity and gas to Business customers. This start:up organization will have varying activities which could include market research, customer identification, operational support to enable build:out of the new enterprise, process documentation, enhancing our existing web platform with digital marketing/media practices.
Trading Compliance : ER and T has a comprehensive transaction monitoring and compliance organization which is in the middle of enhancing its capabilities and scope. We are looking for a detail oriented individual who is able to shift from project to project as required. Activities could include research regulatory guidelines, updating processes and procedures, surveillance of trading activities, updating databases and manuals.
Required Education/Skills: The successful candidate(s) must be mathematically numerate, enjoy working in teams in a fast:paced environment. Candidates should be actively pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Business, Engineering or a concentration in Energy from an accredited institution with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and an anticipated graduation date between December 2018 and May 2020. Candidates must have completed sophomore level course work for consideration. Candidates must have excellent oral and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail. PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. GPA information MUST be included on your resume for employment consideration.
It is the intent of ER and T to find candidates who could be suitable for long:term employment when their academic studies are completed.
All PSEG internship roles are paid at an hourly rate, however there are no benefits associated with these positions. Candidates are expected to work 40 hours per week over the summer period for the full 10:12 week period, or as your supervisor may require. We are targeting: Currently enrolled students with GPA of 3.0 staying in the NJ/NY/PA metro area for the duration of the internship and able to commute to the assigned work location. Housing, transportation, immigration support will not be provided in association with these positions.
