This is a Project function designed to support project work for a duration of an in determinant period of time, currently anticipated to be 3 : 5 years based on business needs at the present time. However, this period may be shortened based on business needs in the future. This position has a defined employment start and termination date which carries certain Benefit Limitations (i.e., no separation benefits). Director Level approval and waiver will be required for you to bid on other PSEG opportunities. During the final year of the limited duration assignment, Director level approval and waiver will not be required. If your assignment ends prior to the anticipated time frame based on business needs, you will be allowed to bid on other PSEG opportunities without Director level approval from the time you are notified your assignment will be ending through the end date of the assignment.
Note: This is a multi:level growth series position (Grade Level 25/26/27) that is posted at the Staff Engineer level. The title, grade level and incentive target assigned to the successful candidate will be determined by assessing skills and related experience, learned through the interview process.
The successful candidate will perform as a member of an Asset Strategy team in Electric and Gas Asset Strategy within the Asset Management and Centralized Services organization, utilizing a broad knowledge of business and engineering principles and practices acquired through progressive experience.
Electric Asset Strategy Team Functions:
Directs and integrates strategic long term asset management focus for Electric Transmission, Substation and Distribution by utilizing risk and gap analysis, reliability centered maintenance, life cycle cost techniques and financial and operational metric to improve and achieve performance measures. Other team functions include : projecting financial risk and budgets for future periods, integration of outside plant, inside plant, transmission overhead and underground lifecycle strategies, Transmission and Distribution (T and D) System reliability analysis, T and D System Health and Risk Management, T and D System Maintenance strategy and plan which include maintenance policies/strategies, design specifications, operating ratings and standards, replacement strategies and plans, and assessment of risk.
:BS in Engineering.
:1:5 years of electrical utility or plant experience and knowledge of electrical substations and switching stations equipment, e.g., transformers, circuit breakers, medium voltage switchgear, regulators, capacitor banks, disconnect switches and associated electrical system for switching and substations and or outside plant electric distribution and/or transmission systems.
:Applicant must have effective problem:solving and decision:making skills, strong planning and organizing skills, must be adaptable and be results:oriented.
:Clear and concise writing and verbal communications skills are essential.
:On call 24/7 every 6 weeks to assist during system emergency situations.
:Must have a valid driver's license.
