This position is responsible for providing day to day oversight of administrative functions within the Medical Department. This includes identification, implementation and execution of process improvement activities. Act as a liaison with other areas of the Benefits Department and provide support as required. The position will oversee the medical return to work with restriction processes inclusive of associated systems and vendors/stakeholders. Specific duties include:
Provide administrative oversight of the Medical Department, including but not limited to:
:Assisting the Director, Medical and Safety, the Medical Director and the Manager Occupational Health Services with budgetary, scorecard and process related oversight.
:Manage the Medical Department front desk, which includes checking employees into the Department for appointments.
:Track ordering and manage inventory of medical materials and supplies.
:Process and coordinate all requests for medical records for Workers Compensation, Disability as needed.
:Perform medical testing such as drug and alcohol testing, vision screening, hearing screening, pulmonary function tests and blood pressure.
Additional responsibilities include overseeing the intake desk in the Medical Department:.
This requires file management and maintenance by utilizing database systems to create on:line medical files, handling confidential information, taking ID photos, knowledge of regulatory requirements for clients, and assisting clients who are disabled or ill.
Administer the Key Personnel (Executive) physical examination program. Responsible for monitoring, scheduling, follow:up and confirmation of all appointments and medical records related to this program.
Perform some medical testing (drug and alcohol specimen collection, vision, hearing, pulmonary function, respirator fit testing, EKG and blood pressure).
Perform invoice and billing review, auditing for COA/time code capture, provide support for the HR Medical Mailbox, scheduling/project coordination, process document review/creation.
Responsible for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) process management and oversight. Manage ADA related restrictions for employees and return to work cases.
This position will fill in for the Manager Occupational Health Services on an as needed basis.
Required Skills, Competencies, Education and Experience:
:High School Diploma or equivalent
:5:7 years of relevant work experience working in Corporate Medical, Safety, Benefits or HR Departments or related functions. (At least 2 years PSEG specific work experience is preferred)
:Ability to obtain DOT Certification in Drug and Alcohol Testing; the Certificate of Accreditation for Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) and Spirometry Certification.
:Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multi:task in a fast:paced environment.
:Excellent written and verbal communications, ability to work with different departments and third:party resources to achieve mutual goals.
:Experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
:A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
:Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
